ROCKS.
But we knew that already, right? ;)
Saw him the other night with Sting. Brilliant. Really. Like he was channeling Stewart Copeland... who's not actually dead, but you get the idea. And they did a Devo cover that, in the immortal words of Jack Black, rocked my socks off.
Despite how you might feel about Sting, if you get a chance to catch this tour, you should consider it.

Re: Josh Freese...
Fri, April 8, 2005 - 11:20 PMWell keep in mind Josh is a drumming demi-god... If you look at his discography it's easy to see why drum magazine listed him among the greatest studio session players. But I've seen him play live for many years from APC, to devo, to his solo band. He comes from a musical family, (dad blows the fuck out of a tuba - speed tuba, yet)
He had many huge players as influences and tutors since a youngin'. (Bozzio, C. Wackerman, prolly good buddies with Brooks.) Anyway.
Now that I hear he's playing with Sting, not surprised. Sting's had major players on tour, Omar Hakim, Vinnie Colaiuta, Manu Katche', etc... Seems only fitting Josh be among them because he can hit 'em hard, but he can groove like a mother fucker too. Rock on Josh. (Say hi to Stan for me.) -
