Please pass this on and help COSM get their permanent home!

The Chapel of Sacred Mirrors (Alex Grey's temporary art gallery in NYC) needs your help. They want to expand from their current one floor apartment location to a 39 acre area that will be permanent, but the spot they found must be bought by next week! They are trying to raise $1.8 million. Please help this wonderful gallery and artist succeed in this goal. Do anything you can to help. If you've been to the gallery, you know why this is so important. If you haven't, shame on you!

ROCKS.

But we knew that already, right? ;)

Saw him the other night with Sting. Brilliant. Really. Like he was channeling Stewart Copeland... who's not actually dead, but you get the idea. And they did a Devo cover that, in the immortal words of Jack Black, rocked my socks off.

Despite how you might feel about Sting, if you get a chance to catch this tour, you should consider it.

Maynard in movies

Has anyone else seen Sleeping Dogs Lie?
Maynard has a part in it......its a pretty good little flick. I say little because its only like 30 - 45 minutes long. Ed Asner and some other guy are in it. Its great! You should check it out.

Also of course Bikini Bandits...Maynard half naked painted red in a devils outfit. you can't get any hotter than that. I think he shows his arse as well. Can't recall though.

does anyone know of any other movies that have maynard in them?

Let me know what you thought!

Ok bye!

i just hear eMOTIVE and i must say....
i am dissapointed....
i have not seen the dvd, which i know you guys didnt really like either.
some songs are alright, but isnt it a little poppy for apc????
what are they doing to me????are they trying to crush my love for them????i dont understand.....
maybe i just need to warm up to it????
maybe it was a mistake???
maybe a cheesy cover band is posing as APC????
i search my mind for these answers and i find nothing......the only thing that comforts my empty mind is thirteenth step playing in the distance surrounding my heart like a blanket of cotton candy and i then know that i indeed still love apc.....

WARNING:
If you haven't seen aMOTION, see it only if you want to generate a decimated opinion of APC for yourself. Do not see it if you're a big fan, you'll get crushed otherwise. It'll make you wonder what evil possessed the band to choose visuals of dubious nature that do not compliment their awesome music, and that could easily make just about anyone cringe.

ok, I'm not talking about everything in aMOTION... of course, the videos for Judith, Weak and Powerless, 3 Libras are great! the rest sucks like a cheap pubescent whore. literally.

I have a friend who was in a "perfect circle" in Portland. According to him its 48 hours+ of several people in different rooms alone in the same house with several people "coordinating." What happens is that the individuals in the rooms, from whatever the coordinators are saying to them, no touching, all have very intense and lengthy full body orgasms. Its a kind of therapeutic experience meant to release inhibitions. Has anyone ever heard of anything like this and does the band name PC have any connection to this "therapy?"

And has anyone heard the song "Diary of a Madman"? I heard it was written by APC but I don't know that for a fact.

Some info i found on the band. Some of you know this, others might not... either way, enjoy.

A Perfect Circle is an progressive rock band, formed by guitarist Billy Howerdel. Howerdel had worked as a guitar tech for bands such as Nine Inch Nails, The Smashing Pumpkins, Fishbone and Tool. During the recording of Tool's Ænima album, he played demos of his music to Tool's singer, Maynard James Keenan, who, although Howerdel originally wanted a female singer, offered himself as vocalist should Howerdel form a band.

Joined by The Vandals drummer Josh Freese, ex- Failure guitarist Troy van Leeuwen, and bassist/violinist Paz Lenchantin (later of Zwan), the band rehearsed the music that Howerdel had begun and finished their debut album Mer de Noms (French "Sea of Names"). At this time Tool was tied up in negotiations with their record label, allowing Keenan much time to complete the work. While the band's first single, "Judith", brought some comparisons to Tool, the album is quite different.

Between Lenchantin leaving the band for Billy Corgan's new band Zwan and van Leeuwen becoming the new tour guitarist of Queens of the Stone Age, the band was in need for a new bassist and guitarist for their live performances. These positions were taken over by ex-Marilyn Manson bassist Jeordie White (formerly known as Twiggy Ramirez) and ex-Smashing Pumpkins guitarist James Iha.

The band released their second album, Thirteenth Step, in September 2003.

2004-08-25 STATEMENT FROM MAYNARD

Taken from APC's website:

"2004-08-25 STATEMENT FROM MAYNARD
November 2nd, coinciding with the presidential election, APC will be releasing a collection of songs about WAR, PEACE, LOVE AND GREED, entitled "eMOTIVe." Featuring new material and songs like "imagine" by John Lennon, "What's goin on" by Marvin Gaye, "Let's have a war" by FEAR. This week we will release one of these new songs entitled, "Counting bodies like sheep to the rhythm of the war drums," with an animated video poking fun at our fearless leader. Hopefully, you'll find it as entertaining as we do.

REMEMBER... EVERY S

INGLE VOTE COUNTS.

Don't let yourself be tricked into thinking it does not. It is important for us all to engage this political system and to be conscious of who is being chosen to speak for us. If you choose not to be involved with decisions that affect your life on a daily basis, in our opinion, you forfeit your right to complain about it later. THINK FOR YOURSELF. QUESTION AUTHORITY. Hopefully you will choose to vote on November 2nd.

Peace,
Maynard. "

I would like to know what everyone's take on this is?
Other then the topic of money..Do you feel that it was a wise move by Maynard;to take APC down this road?
THANK YOU

I myself, am not a Rep. or Dem.
I find it very confusing to have some like Maynard, who
from what i gather- is against Bush, stands by System of the Down and other bands; in telling everyone not to vote for Bush.
"THINK FOR YOURSELF. QUESTION AUTHORITY."
Well.. I am "Thinking for myself... and I am "Questioning Authority"... Am questioning ANYONE that tells me how to vote.

I myself, find Maynard's actions confusing and troublesome.
To bring a great band such as APC into this.. well..
I just find it sad.

Last day of the Tour...:(

I just saw APC twice last weekend. Saturday they played in Colorado Springs, and Sunday they played here near Denver at Red Rocks. Its the third time I've seen them and they fucking rock. Every single time I've gone we've been front and center against the stage. I even have two pics from jeordie and two from James :) At the CO. Springs show they also dropped a bunch of ping pong balls, and my friend and I each got one. They didn't say APC on them or anything, though.

I fuckin love them live though. It's kinda weird how Maynard never shows his face, although at the Red Rocks show he did pull down his wife beater...you could see the tattoo on his back (and his nipples, lol...he has something of an obsession with nipples himself. He's brought them up at all three shows).

It was great seeing the last show of the tour. Danny Lohner (formerly in NIN and touring with APC taking a lot of tour footage) came out during one of the songs and played with them, and Dimitri, the lead singer of Burning Brides, came out wearing a lobster suit. His lobster head fell off, though, and Jeordie put it on and played with it for the rest of that song! I will never forget seeing Jeordie playing with that hat on....priceless.

OH BTW what did everyone think of Burning Brides? I thought they were fantastically better than the Mars Volta (who we saw open for APC last time..). After the show in the Springs we got to hang out with them, and they were all really nice. Their "photographer" is actually a professional skateboarder named Brad Staba, and he was incredibly nice, too ;) Him and I wandered around the auditorium where the show had been. It was really neat to walk underneath and behind the stage and shit..haha well I think i've written enough... :)

I wish this wasn't the last chance I had to see them this year...I'll miss them
